Chefs and chief physicians demonstrate healthy nutrition
Healthy nutrion on the one side is an absulte top trend - on the other
many still thnik of it as boring food you eat, when you are sick . They
think of diabetis, adiposity or allergies. To say it short: Many people still think that healthy fod does not taste
quite good. And this is wrong. Even a diet that has to take core of allergies
or other sensitivities, provides any chance for real pleasure.
At the IKA some chefs of the German Chef%u2019s Association will produce evidence for that. They support the lectures of well known chief physicians, who will represent the scientific side of healthy recepies.

The German Chefs Society (VKD), with its 14.000
members is the most powerful Chefs Society in
Members of the German Chefs Society come from all different fields of the
profession. You will find Michelin start cooks as well as hotel restaurateur, chefs
for diet and health programs or cooks in communal feeding. They all are experts
in their profession and their special field.
Speaking with Ctefan Wohlfeil, chefs that are members in the Society particularly
are ambassadors of health and culinary indulgence: „Eating
means so much more than just consuming food. Speaking of the culture of food,
the ”what%u201D in a way is not as important than the ”how%u201D. We have to relearn to
really enjoy our food again. And we have to be willing to pay an adequate price
for it. There is a very famous advertising slogan in

VKD-members automatically are member of the World Association of Chefs
Societies (WACS) with 8 million members in 75 member countries.
The history of the German Chefs Society
It began in 1896, when in Frankfurt am Main the Verband der Köche (IVdK)
(Internationals Chefs Society had been founded. At this time this association lobbied for the
legal admission of professional cooking as a trade, the supervison of
apprenticeship by the chambers of trade, the legal prohibition of professional
job placement (this making many chefs looking for a new job dependent on their
financial possibilities) and for a
social security systems as well as a funeral expenses fond for chefs.
The first Internationale Kochkunstausstellung - IKA (International
Culinary Exhibition) had already been but by the IVdK in the year 1900.
Up to now the IKA/Olmypiade der Köche in
During the 1930s the IVdK had to dissolve itself and could not be
resolved until some years after World War II.
The VKD today, thanks to its actual president and its managing committee,
represents a dynamic, future oriented professional society: Based on culinary
tradition, open for development and future trends, responsible concerning the
topic of human health, ambassador of a living food culture and the best network
